My view on 'Flips' and their relations to 'Parkour'

My view on 'Flips' and their relations to 'Parkour'
I dont think flips are parkour, but they still can help in parkour,
they build alot of confidence....
What if you're falling backwards, headfirst, (rare event, but still)
your not gunna wanna fall on your head,
knowing how to tuck and bring your legs around can give you
that chance you need to survive in someway,
Do people know where im coming from?
So no one is wrong and no one is right in this argument.
Flips can show confidence and control in your body...
~
Conclusion:
Flips and tricks build confidence, control and co-ordination
which are some of the main characteristics that are aimed at
and achieved by parkour.
~
So stop arguing and get out there and train!

Why do I practice the art of Parkour?

~
Everyone will have their own reason for doing parkour, that is the beauty, there is no need to be the same as everyone else or to limit yourself to what others think.
~
I'm a very individual person, some traceurs may find themselves like this...
I don't like competing(team sports), it brings stress, schedules and stuff like that
that I don't need. When we compete, we compare eachother, when we compare eachother,
we seem to argue about differences, fight, get angry, become predjuce, ect. (This can be the reason for some of this world biggest problems)
I do parkour, keeps me fit, safer (not nearly as many injuries in parkour than say, football or hockey)
and it's a great way to go hang out with friends on your own time, and progress in parkour at your own pace.
I can be creative with parkour and free running.
Instead of competing in parkour, we congradulate eachother for doing something great, and learn from
eachother. It's a great atmosphere to be in, no drugs, violence, (hardcore-rebel-gangsterness, lol). You
know what i mean....
Parkour has given me an opportunity to make friends who are truly like me as they sometimes have the same
situation as i am describing now. We all progress at our own rates and in different ways...something that
other sports can't understand...
.................
........
this is why i do parkour...........

Kong Vault into Cat Leap

This was a nice little wall and rail in which we found some kong to cat training.
For this particular setup, the top of the wall was higher than the rail.
The wall was close to the rail.
This meant i had to thrust my body upwards from the kong instead of trying to make
distance going forward.
At the moment, I am working on using both 'split foot' and 'double footed' take off
for my kongs as they both have their own advantages.
For me, I use 'double footed take off' for height or short distance kongs.
I use 'split foot takeoff' for making distance after the kong in precisions or lower cat leaps.
This is because i can keep the flow from running, also, when i perform 'double footed takeoff',
I tend to stop and pause before i take off, losing alot of speed but gaining height.
Something I'd use for kash vaults or high kongs.
I am most comfortable with 'double footed takeoff' so it is what i use most.
However, I am trying to get equally confident with both of them.
